Clinical and Quality Services
- Serves as a resource for clinical, quality, regulatory and survey issues.
- Collects, monitors and analyzes statewide and national survey data, trends, implementation and enforcement.
- Works with the New York Department of Health on policies, survey issues and dispute resolutions.
- Works with members on developing Department of Health Plans of Corrections.
- Provides member guidance and input to the New York State Department of Health on DOH / CMS Directives.
- Works closely with member facilities on: resident assessment; clinical issues; quality initiatives; staffing issues.
- Provides continual member guidance and input to the NYSDOH on new DOH & CMS directives; (Criminal History Background Checks, Advanced Directives, Part D Issues)
- Represents the member perspectives on New York State Department of Health task forces on many topics; Disaster and Emergency Preparedness; Transfer and Discharge Issues; Pressure Ulcer Prevention; and Nurse Aide Training Programs.
- Provides input and comments to the Governor’s staff on current regulatory issues.
- Works closely with the Foundation for Quality Care on the development of grant proposals and developing partnerships for many educational programs.
- Provides leadership and direction to the Nurse Leadership Institute and other statewide training programs.
