About NYSHFA

The New York State Health Facilities Association (NYSHFA) is a statewide professional association for over 250 member facilities which span the continuum of long term care in New York.

NYSHFA members provide services to New York’s frail and elderly through skilled nursing facilities, assisted living residences, adult care facilities, and independent senior living communities. NYSHFA is dedicated to enhancing long term care in New York by providing leadership, advocacy, information, and education to a broad range of providers, consumers, government agencies, and others comprising the long term care community.

NYSHFA is an affiliate of the American Health Care Association (AHCA) and National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL). AHCA is a non-profit federation of affiliated state health organizations, together representing more than 10,000 long term care providers that care for more than 1.5 million elderly and disabled individuals nationally. NCAL is the assisted living voice of the AHCA. Located in Washington, DC, AHCA/NCAL maintain legislative, regulatory, public affairs, and member services staff that work to assist in the interests of the government, general public and member providers.
